Cultural Preservation Programme
Comprehensive programme to document and preserve oral traditions, customs, heritage, traditional music, crafts, and historical materials for present and future generations.
The Cultural Preservation Programme aims to document and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Anyima and surrounding communities. The programme includes documenting oral histories, folktales, and proverbs from community elders; recording traditional music, songs, and dance forms; and preserving knowledge of traditional crafts and artisanal skills.
An archive of historical photographs and documents has been established, and a cultural education curriculum has been developed for local schools. The programme works closely with elders, cultural practitioners, and community members to ensure comprehensive documentation.
The programme represents our commitment to ensuring that the rich cultural heritage of our traditional area is preserved and passed on to future generations, maintaining our identity and values while embracing progress.
Recent achievements include the documentation of over 100 oral histories, the recording of traditional music and dance performances, and the establishment of a cultural resource center. The programme continues to engage community members in preserving their heritage.
